This year the parade theme was “Lights, Camera, Action!!!” And, Trinity’s entry was: “Under The Lights of Heaven – The Greatest Story Ever Told”.

Children of the church and school presented the traditional Christmas Nativity scene with the lights of heaven shining over Bethlehem to tell the story of this amazing event in history which marks our calendars today – the birth of the Christ child.

That starry night 2010 years ago beckoned the shepherds from the fields and Wiseman from the East to the humble birthplace of the baby Jesus of Bethlehem. It is a story that has been passed down over 2,000 years and heard around the world.

Children in grades 3 through 5 present the Christmas Nativity.

Also, for the first time, adults handed out more than 5,000 candy canes to a very appreciative audience of more than a hundred-thousand people with the scripture Luke 2:1-17.

If you missed it in person or the live broadcast, you can still catch replays! The Grand Illumination Parade will broadcast on WVEC Channel 13 on Thanksgiving Day at 9am, Sunday, December 5 at 3pm and Christmas Eve at Noon. During the week of Christmas, Norfolk Neighborhood Network TV-48 will also broadcast the parade.

Trinity will celebrate the Reformation this Oct. 29-31 with a Bach Concert, Oktoberfest, and Worship Service.

Always a big weekend for us, we begin Reformation Weekend on Oct. 29 by listening to some of the best musicians in Hampton Roads play in a sacred setting some of Bach’s greatest works. Join us for this free concert at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, we highlight our school and celebrate the fall harvest with our Oktoberfest. Yes…we have beer! Join us from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for a brew and a brat!

On Sunday, we have ONE SERVICE at 11 a.m. to celebrate our religious freedom that only comes via the grace of Jesus Christ as told by the Bible. Through our faith alone, we are saved. And we have cause to celebrate!

We’re looking forward to celebrating with you all weekend long!
