Reminder: Summer Service Event This Wednesday
Don’t Forget: You’re Invited to Trinity’s Summer Service Event
This Wednesday, June 15th, Trinity Lutheran Church will be holding an event to benefit the Norfolk Food Bank. An evening for the whole family will begin at 6:00 with a hot dog supper, followed by a short devotion by Pastor Smith. Finally, some volunteers will be collecting donations from the neighborhood, picking up food items left on front porches for the Food Bank. We are also requesting that members of Trinity bring non-perishable food items Wednesday evening or to church this coming Sunday (June 12) to contribute to this cause. There will be no charge for supper. Instead, we will ask for a free-will offering to cover the cost.
Special Sermon & Adult Bible Class on May 29!
Seminarian Justin Pahl, wife Jennifer, and their new daughter Julia, who we’ve been supporting during their first two years at Concordia-St. Louis, will be joining us on Sunday May 29!
He will be the preacher at both services and lead a special Bible Class in the Sanctuary for all the adults where you can ask him all sorts of questions! (The three regular Bible classes will not meet.)
Make time this weekend to come worship God and hear about the life of a future pastor and his family.
Financial Peace University Begins This Sunday
Just a reminder that Financial Peace University at Trinity begins this Sunday, April 3rd, at 3:00 p.m.
If you haven’t already signed up, don’t worry—the first class is free, and if you like what you see, you can sign up at a discount for the rest of the course. Registration normally costs $199, but if you register for you membership through Trinity, it’s only $100. You save $99!
The full course lasts 13 weeks. Classes will be held Sundays from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., except for Easter Sunday and Mothers’ Day. Click here for the full course schedule.
Easter Breakfast
Trinity’s Easter breakfast will follow the sunrise service, and we’re looking for a few good helpers! There will be a sign-up sheet on the LWML bulletin board for those who would like to bring a dish to share. The LWML will also accept donations toward the purchase of any additional items that no one has volunteered to bring.
The Sunday School Easter pageant will be at 10:45, so we’re going to need lots of help with the clean-up. Many hands make light work, as they say.
Email Tom if you can help. Thanks!

Calling all military!
Are you part of the Trinity family and part of the military (active duty, retired, reserved or family)?
We are starting a new military ministry and would like to get a picture of all the military that is already a part of the Trinity family. Be in the sanctuary at 9:40am (after first service but before Bible class) so we can get a group picture. You can wear your uniform or come in your civilian clothes. It will also be a chance to talk to Errol Jennings who is heading up this new outreach.
Questions? Call the church office at 489-2551 or e-mail tlc@trinitylutherannorfolk.org.
No Food for Thought Feb. 6
There will be no Food for Thought gathering this coming Sunday, the 6th, due to the Superbowl.
Our next gathering will be February 20. We will watch the film The Social Network. The film is a very clear expression of our culture’s modern day priorities and motivations. It’s also just a great story.
Food for Thought meets the first and third Sundays of each month from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. for dinner and conversation about today’s issues from a Christian perspective.
New Youth Group!
That’s right, there’s a new youth group starting at Trinity. 4th and 5th grade age children will now have the chance to experience Jesus and what it means that He died for us and we’re Christians.
There will be Bible time, snacks and games.
We’ll meet in the school library on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month at 3:00pm when Trinity Lutheran School is open.
Questions? Call the church office or e-mail Pastor David Smith at dwsmith78@hotmail.com.
